Alec Bradley Black Market
This medium-bodied cigar rates about a 90 on Cigar Aficionado, and features a Jalapa Nicaraguan wrapper, Ecuadorian Sumatra binder, and a combination of leaves from Honduras and Panama for the filler. The Black Market cigar is firmly constructed and smells of earth and cedar. The construction lends itself well to a long ash and smokes slowly but evenly. Upon lighting the cigar the earthy and bitter tones are in the foreground, with a hint of spice that strengthens through the burn. Towards the middle the woody and nutty flavors grow as well, to a well-balanced mixture. The Sumatra binder lends a hint of coffee and red pepper to join the very earthy flavors in this mix. As always I’m very impressed by the quality and flavors that Alec Bradley brings to the table. A fantastic smoke on this Labor Day!
